Yesterday was a difficult day to eat healthy. I didn't start it off very well, eating a large meal's worth of my Chinese food leftovers.
Then my friend picked me up to go to a used bookstore so that we could try to sell or trade in some of our unwanted books, and there was a bit of running around because the first place we went was not very helpful, but we went to another store in the same chain, and they were more helpful. My friend waited 'til the second store to trade in her books, but I didn't. I just sold a few more that the first store didn't want. I probably could have gotten a bigger credit! Oh, well.
Then we tried to go roller skating, but it was so busy when we got there that we ended up just standing in the parking lot trying to decide what to do instead. We were right by a Cheesecake Cafe, so it was decided that we'd go there for lunch. It had terrible service and so-so food, but it was still nice to visit with everybody. I had a chicken taco salad (dressing on the side!)and, um, a piece of Reese's peanut butter cup cheesecake. But I shared with everyone! My husband ate most of it. I've actually never been too crazy about any of the cheesecakes I've tried at the Cheesecake Cafe, which is odd because that's what they do and all.
Then we stood around in the parking lot for another long while trying to decide what to do, until finally everybody started to go home. My husband, the friend I came with (my husband met us at the roller rink), and I went to Toys R Us to look for an easier Trivial Pursuit board game. I have a game night coming up next Sunday. The Trivial Pursuit we already have is too difficult to be fun. So we found a "family" one on sale, and it has kids' cards that I think are more our speed (sounds bad, but even the kids' cards aren't easy). Then we went to Walmart to see if they had any (nope), and then my friend wanted to go to Chapters. At Chapters, I found a book I wanted but am too cheap to buy, so I texted myself the title and I hope I will be able to find it at the library!
We found a board game there called "Urban Myth." My husband and I played it last night (he won). It's pretty interesting! I learned things I didn't know, and I'm the person that persistently sends out the rebuttal from Snopes if someone sends me an email that sounds fishy. Every. single. time. I even belong to a "Snopes is your friend" group on Facebook! Sometimes I read Snopes for fun. Not enough though, I guess. LOL.
This got much longer than I intended. Sorry! And I still have to add: please sponsor me if you are able for my 5K walk for cancer research! Button on my sidebar. Amounts $10 and over get a tax receipt. Thanks!
Oh yeah, and I was down to 193.8 today. I don't get it, but I like it.

@Debbie: Snopes is a website dedicated to debunking urban myths.
ReplyDeleteSome days are just harder to work within than others. Glad the scale is agreeing with you though!
